Kisses (2008)

I picked this up randomly in my local library.

Set in modern-day Ireland, twelve year old Dylan (Shane Curry) and his best friend and next-door neighbour Kylie (Kelly O'Neill), go on the run to Dublin to escape their violent and dysfunctional families.

What a treat! It's the kind of little gem you always hope to stumble upon but never expect to find. Sweet, authentic, engaging. Zinging dialogue that makes you laugh and cry. Beautifully shot. Low budget filmmaking at its best.
